Levels of Anxiety with primary school students stemming from social media

Rachel Harper (Principal of St Patrick’s National School, Greystones, Co. Wicklow) speaks to Wendy about the surging and concerning levels of anxiety among pupils linked with social media, and how her school is partnering with eight other primary schools in their area of Greystones in Wicklow to try and tackle this with additional supports for teachers, parents, and children. The Parents’ associations at her school and these further schools have agreed to a “no smartphone voluntary code” until children start secondary school.
