Tearfund Ireland conference, ‘Who is my Neighbour? Lessons from the church in Lebanon’
We are delighted that Sophie Nasrallah from our partner MERATH in Lebanon will be with us as the keynote speaker on the day. MERATH has been working with local church partners to support refugees and internally displaced persons in Lebanon for many years, and there is much we in Ireland can learn from their experience.

The focus of the conference is:

To learn more about the context within Lebanon and how the church in Lebanon is reaching out to ‘the other’ despite the enormous challenges facing everyone.
To understand more about the challenges refugees face and how the lessons from the Lebanese church might help the church in Ireland as we engage with refugees and migrants to Ireland.

Other speakers include:

Nick Park, Executive Director of EAI and author of ‘Ministry to Migrants and Asylum Seekers’.

Elizabeth Zion, whose family came to Ireland as refugees, and who now advocates for family reunification.

The conference includes a panel discussion and a time of reflection.
